****************************** Lawn Signs: Land Over Landings lawn signs can show your support for the cause! Signs are 18"x24" coreplast with our LOL logo and webpage in green and white, and include a stake. There is no charge and we will deliver to your door, but donations are very welcome! ****************************** It's entirely fitting that the historic Brougham Hall, built by the citizens of Brougham for the citizens of Brougham should be the home of Land Over Landings. Built in the 1850s, the hall was used for community meetings, clubs, theatrical productions, dances and suppers for a bustling community. At the crossroads of Concession Six (Highway Seven) and Brock Road, Brougham was the geographical centre of Pickering Towship as well as the political and cultural heart of the township, with the hall serving for municipal meetings for over a century. Over the decades since expropriation, the hall has continued to be the centre of the community even as it declined, but recently has seen a revival of meetings, community events and dances with the arrival of Land Over Landings. When the hall is not available we meet at the Commercial Hotel, another building of historical significance and now home to Durham Sustain Ability, one of our sister environmental groups. The Brougham Hall is located on the east side of Brock Road between Highway 407 and Highway Seven. The Commercial Hotel is on the south side of Highway Seven, just east of Brock Road. ******************************
