On newsstands and in mailboxes now, the latest edition of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville’s “On The Road” magazine!
It features the story of how Pickering was chosen in the 70s as the site of a new international airport, and especially Stouffville’s role in the protests that helped derail the plan. It reveals again, that the process was politically motivated and that the expropriation process was cruel, morally bankrupt, and borderline illegal. Certainly, there is no evidence of the mythical “business case”.
